In 2006, a group of transplanted Canadians had the crazy notion that Central Texans might embrace the sport of curling and formed the Lone Star Curling Club. Sure enough, seven years later, Austin has proven it’s just weird enough that curling has become a mainstay in the CenTex region.
Current Club officers are:
|Buck Krawczyk||Vice President|
|Laurie Jones||Special Programs & Merchandise|
|Darin Henley||Social Media|
We have one board meeting per month. Minutes can be located here.
Next Board Meeting: January 12th, at 8:30 a.m. before curling at Egg and I. All members are welcome to join. If you want more information on our next board meeting you can contact Joe Glaeser.
How to Join
The Lone Star Curling Club welcomes anyone with an interest in curling. Previous experience is not required but we do recommend a learn-to-curl session or two to get the basics down.
To join the Lone Star Curling Club, just come by to our weekly curling games, or you can contact Darlene Barnes (membership director), for more information. Annual dues are $55 for membership in the USA Curling Association and insurance. League fees vary for each league and is based on the number of games.
