The 2nd Annual Texas Open Bonspiel

The Texas Open Bonspiel is a new tradition launched in 2007 with a magnificent inaugural event hosted by The Curling Club of Houston. In 2008, the D/FW Curling Club hopes to continue this track record of excellence by welcoming curlers to North Texas.

Update (3/11/08):

We are one month away from our second annual Texas Open Bonspiel!!! The deadline for signing up for this event is March 15.We are pleased to announce that we already have our 24 teams registered. We have 21 teams from Texas (5 Austin, 6 Houston and 10 Dallas/Fort Worth). We also have 1 team from Michigan, 1 from Ohio, and 1 from Wisconsin.

The final draw can be found in the draw section of the website. Information has been sent to the skips of all registered teams providing them with their draw time.

Registered teams should also have received a waiver to complete prior to the beginning of the bonspiel. Please make sure it is remitted at the time of the registration when you arrive.

We look forward to seeing you on April 11, 2008.

TOB Update!

Preparations are in full swing for the Second Annual Texas Open Bonspiel, April 11-13, 2008 at the D/FW Curling Club. We'd love to welcome your team to our first major event. Please fill out the entry form we've posted and join us for great competitive curling at an NHL practice facility, all with the added joy of Texas hospitality!

For those who will be traveling from out of state and needing more time to arrive and get settled, we have a Saturday morning draw that is now available. Those slots are limited, so enter now.

We are pleased to help assemble teams of individual players who wish to attend. E-mail TOB Chairman Serge Poissant (specialprojects@dfwcurling.com) or our Club Vice President Andy Bahr (vicepresident@dfwcurling.com) with your preferred playing position, and we'll do our best to create a team for you.

Details of the Second Annual Texas Open Bonspiel

In 2008, the Second Annual Texas Open Bonspiel will be hosted by the Dallas/Fort Worth Curling Club from April 11 to April 13, 2008.

We will be using an "open" format (i.e., any combination of men and women may make up a four-person team). It will guarantee a minimum of three games.  Play will begin Friday evening to give out-of-towners a chance to travel that day.

Cost: $300/team. Registration deadline: March 15, 2008. The registration form can be found here.

We anticipate participation from clubs of all over the USA as well as from Canada!
